Corsican Mountain View Villas Visualized

SHARE
Talented visualization firm Studio Aiko brings this design by Gottesman-Szmelcman into such a state of being that anyone who knows Corsica well could almost smell the famous Maquis plants that make the island their home. An extension of the rocky landscape, the villas are the stuff of stone mason's and glazier's dreams. Beset by glass they cling to the cliff, suspended in the pool's reflection of the Mediterranean sky.

The villas are everything one would expect of a fundamentally modern project, hence it is hardly surprising that sections of green roofing have been incorporated to aid the construction’s natural assimilation. In addition to its aesthetic appeal, it functions in providing the exterior of the properties with a depth, further points of interest, and the inhabitants with an opportunity to connect with the elements.

The interior layout capitalizes on the breathtaking location, with the open plan entertainer’s kitchen, living and dining leading out onto the expansive wooden deck, separated only by floor to ceiling glass. The elegantly cut stone continues to feature heavily inside without dominating and is particularly attractive in the master bedroom as that which constitutes the fireplace. Again the Mediterranean views are in sharp focus through three symmetrical sheets of glass but not quite content, the design team have even taken steps to further draw the outside in with the inclusion of a distinctly Mediterranean print taking pride of place.
