Small Modern Home Visualization

The designers at Polish firm Plasterlina have turned this conventional space into a modern home that would be exceedingly well suited to an urban, creative couple. By placing simple furniture and sticking to a neutral palette, the resulting home is classic and comfortable but never seems stiff or antiseptic.

The living area and kitchen are left open to one another in true modern fashion. A large sectional sofa is a practical addition while a hanging cluster of bulbs is a distinct and playful centerpiece.

By hanging the television on a wood board that is suspended from the ceiling, it becomes a part of the design rather than an appliance that needs to hide. When turned off, it can almost disappear into the wood.

The dining area is well lit during the day with sunlight streaming in through patio doors. Large overhead fixtures provide light for the evening meal and play with the running of theme of suspension

Rather than let bookcases sit on the floor, they are affixed to the white brick wall in a way that makes them seem to be floating. Placing them in the hallway means they don’t clutter other valuable wall space and lets the books themselves add color to the design.

The kitchen has ample counter space on every edge and makes use of a center island, appropriate for both meal preparation and sitting down for a quick bite.

For a small house, the bathroom makes use of a good deal of square footage. An orange countertop and border bring an electric pop of color into an otherwise black and white room. His and hers sinks would save many morning fights over mirrors.

The single bedroom brings in natural elements with wood floors, a sea green ceiling, and granite end table. A private entrance opens up onto a deck for a calming morning coffee.
